Eligibility Criteria for Water Resources Department Recruitment

Education Qualification
- Assistant Engineer (Civil):
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized Indian or foreign university.
- Alternatively, candidates who passed Part A & B of AMIE (India) in Civil Engineering (if enrolled before 31-05-2013) are eligible.
- The degree must be from a regular course recognized by AICTE/UGC. Distance education degrees are not accepted.
- Assistant Engineer (Mechanical):
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Indian or foreign university.
- Alternatively, candidates who passed Part A & B of AMIE (India) in Mechanical Engineering (if enrolled before 31-05-2013) are eligible.
- The degree must be from a regular course recognized by AICTE/UGC. Distance education degrees are not accepted.
- Junior Engineer (Civil):
- A 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or Civil & Planning from an AICTE-recognized technical institute.
- The diploma must be from a regular full-time course. Distance education diplomas are not accepted.
Residentship
- Must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Candidates need to provide a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) or Employment Exchange Registration certificate from Assam.
Nationality
- Must be an Indian citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
Age Limit
The candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years of age as on 01-01-2025.
