Mazagon Dock Non-Executive Selection Process
Written Test:
Candidates are initially shortlisted based on their online application details for a Written Test. Detailed document verification will occur during the Trade/Skill Test stage.
Trade/Skill Test:
- Candidates are shortlisted for the Trade/Skill Test based on Written Test performance and Experience marks (if applicable).
- Shortlisting ratios:
- 1:3 for vacancies > 100.
- 1:4 for vacancies between 50 and 100.
- 1:5 for vacancies < 50.
Final Merit List:
- Prepared based on combined marks from the Written Test and Experience (if applicable).
- The Trade/Skill Test is of qualifying nature only.
Tie-Breaker:
- Higher Experience marks are prioritized.
- Seniority by age (Date of Birth) is considered.
Alternative Selection:
Management may skip the Written Test and select candidates based on Experience and Trade/Skill Test, depending on the applicant volume.
Waiting List:
- Operated for replacements due to resignation, medical unfitness, or candidate withdrawal within the merit list’s one-year validity.
- If exhausted, additional qualified candidates may be considered in merit order.
Verification of Original Documents:
Candidates called for the Trade/Skill Test must bring the following documents (originals and one set of self-attested photocopies) as per the specified order on the scheduled date and time:

- Qualifications:
- Xth & XII Std. Mark Sheets and Certificates
- Mark Sheets for relevant qualifications (semester/year-wise)
- Final Certificate of relevant qualification or Provisional Certificate if Final Certificate is unavailable
- Caste Certificates (SC/ST/EWS/OBC as per Government of India format). OBC candidates must submit proof of non-creamy layer status.
- PWD Candidates: Valid Disability Certificate
- Experience:
- Past Employment: Experience letter with joining and relieving dates
- Current Employment: Proof of joining (appointment letter), identity card, latest pay slip, or experience letter
- Eligibility for Government/PSU Candidates:
- Internal MDL candidates must meet criteria for higher grades.
- Government/PSU candidates must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or Forwarding Letter.
- Armed Forces Candidates: Certificate/letter of Competent Authority stating the release date for age relaxation.
- Valid ID Proof: PAN Card and Aadhar Card.
Note: Only documents valid at the time of joining will be accepted. Non-production of original documents will disqualify candidates from appearing for the Trade/Skill Test.
Pre-Employment Medical Examination:
Candidates must undergo a medical fitness test organized by the Company, at their own expense.
Verification of Antecedents:
A Police Verification Report (PVR) is required for joining. Candidates must apply for PVR at the police station of their residence for the last five years (two years for internal candidates). Failure to provide a PVR may result in termination.
Offer of Appointment:
Seniority will be based on the seniority rules under the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS). If two candidates join on the same day, the one higher in merit will be senior.
