Indian Coast Guard Eligibility Criteria 2024
1. General Duty (GD)
Age Criteria:
- 21-25 years as of 01 Jul 2025 (Born between 01 Jul 2000 and 30 Jun 2004, both dates inclusive).
- Relaxation: 5 years for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/Air Force.
Gender: Male
Educational Qualification:
- A degree from a recognized university.
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate/Class XII (10+2+3 scheme).
- Candidates who completed graduation after a diploma are also eligible, provided the diploma included Physics and Mathematics.
2. Technical (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics)
Age Criteria:
- 21-25 years as of 01 Jul 2025 (Born between 01 Jul 2000 and 30 Jun 2004, both dates inclusive).
- Relaxation: 5 years for personnel serving in Coast Guard.
Gender: Male
Educational Qualification:
(i) For Mechanical/Marine/Related Disciplines:
- Engineering degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial and Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, or Aerospace from a recognized university.
- Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Institutes of Engineers (India), exempted from sections ‘A’ and ‘B’ of their Associate Membership Examination (AMIE).
(ii) For Electrical/Electronics/Related Disciplines:
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control, Electronics and Communication, Power Engineering, or Power Electronics.
- Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Institutes of Engineers (India), exempted from sections ‘A’ and ‘B’ of their AMIE examination.
(iii) Additional Requirement:
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate/Class XII (10+2+3 scheme).
- Candidates who completed graduation after a diploma are also eligible, provided the diploma included Physics and Mathematics.
