Special Interview Chance for Dima Hasao and Barak Valley Candidates
A powerful landslide struck the Jatinga–Lampu stretch of National Highway 27 on 23 June 2025, severing both road and rail links between Guwahati and Assam’s Dima Hasao and Barak Valley districts. Bulletin‑1 of the Railway NFHQ confirmed that multiple trains were cancelled or rerouted, while vehicular traffic came to a standstill—leaving dozens of Grade IV recruitment candidates unable to reach their scheduled interview venues.
The State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) for Class IV Posts in Assam had originally announced interviews between 24 June and 30 June 2025 (Reference No. SLRC‑G‑IV/Assam/Advertisement for Analogous Posts‑IV/2023‑24/01/128, issued 27 May 2025). In its 23 June press note, the Commission acknowledged that affected candidates from Dima Hasao and Barak Valley could not attend on their allotted dates.
Restoration of Services
- 29 June 2025: Partial restoration of road and rail connectivity.
- 30 June 2025: Full restoration of NH‑27 and rail operations.
Revised Interview Arrangements
- Candidates whose interviews fell between 24 June and 30 June will be offered an alternate date for both their personal interview and document‑verification process.
- Interviews from 1 July to 7 July 2025 will proceed as originally planned; all candidates from the affected districts should report on their pre‑assigned dates.
The Commission urges affected applicants to monitor official announcements regularly, and to remain patient and proactive as it works to ensure that no one is unfairly penalized by this unforeseen natural disaster.
